IGNITE Broward Light Festival

Every February, Broward County transforms after dark for IGNITE Broward, a free festival of light, sound, and technology. Immersive installations, large-scale projections, and interactive works take over public spaces across the county for ten days. It's one of the most visually striking free events in South Florida, and our properties in Plantation and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea are right in the middle of it.

When Is It?

IGNITE Broward runs for about ten days in mid-February. The 2027 edition is scheduled for February 12–21. Check ignitebroward.com for the full map of installations and any ticketed events within the festival.

What to Expect

The festival is spread across multiple locations rather than concentrated in one venue. Installations range from large projection-mapped buildings to smaller interactive pieces you can walk through or touch. The work changes each year, so there's always something new. Most of it is free and accessible without tickets, though some special events within the festival may require registration.

Tips

  • Plan your route in advance. The installations are spread out, so knowing which ones you want to see saves time.
  • The best light is after full dark, which in February means after about 7 p.m.
  • Comfortable shoes matter. You'll be walking between sites.
  • Check the official site for any pop-up events or performances added during the festival run.
