Fort Lauderdale 4th of July Spectacular

Fort Lauderdale puts on one of the best Independence Day celebrations in Florida. The 4th of July Spectacular on Fort Lauderdale Beach and Las Olas Oceanside Park runs all day with live bands, a kids zone, and food, capping off with a 23-minute fireworks show over the Atlantic. Our properties in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea are minutes from the beach, making this one of the easiest holiday weekends to plan.

When Is It?

July 4th, every year. The daytime festivities start in the afternoon, with fireworks launching after dark. Check the City of Fort Lauderdale's parks and recreation site for the confirmed schedule each year.

What to Expect

The beach fills up through the day with families, groups, and visitors staking out spots for the evening show. Live music plays at Las Olas Oceanside Park through the afternoon. The fireworks launch from the beach and are visible from a wide stretch of coastline, so you don't need to be right at the main stage to get a great view.

Watching from Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

Our Lauderdale-by-the-Sea properties are just north of the main show zone. The fireworks are clearly visible from the beach there, with fewer crowds than the main viewing area. Walk down to the sand after dinner and you'll have a clear view of the whole show.

Tips

  • The beach gets crowded early. If you want a prime spot near the main stage, arrive by mid-afternoon.
  • Parking near the beach is nearly impossible on the 4th. Walk, bike, or rideshare.
  • Bring a blanket, chairs, and snacks. The wait between the afternoon entertainment and the fireworks is a few hours.
  • The show is 23 minutes long and worth every minute. Stay for the finale.
