Shopping Near Plantation & Fort Lauderdale

From open-air malls to boutique strips, the shopping around Plantation and Fort Lauderdale covers a lot of ground. Here are the spots worth knowing.

Sawgrass Mills

One of the largest outlet malls in the country, about 20 minutes from Plantation. Over 350 stores including Gucci, Prada, Burberry, and dozens of mid-range outlets. Plan for at least half a day — the place is enormous. The Colonnade Outlets section at the east end has the luxury brands.

Las Olas Boulevard

Fort Lauderdale's main shopping and dining street. Boutiques, galleries, and independent shops line both sides. Better for browsing than bulk buying, but you'll find things here you won't find in a mall. About 20 minutes from Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale

A traditional indoor mall about 10 minutes from the beach. Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Apple, and the usual mix of mall anchors. Good for a rainy day or if you need something specific.

Pembroke Lakes Mall

About 20 minutes southwest of Plantation. A solid regional mall with a wide range of stores. Less crowded than Sawgrass and easier to navigate.

Antique Row — Dania Beach

Dania Beach has a stretch of antique shops and dealers that's worth a browse if you're into that sort of thing. About 15 minutes south. Furniture, art, jewelry, and oddities. Prices are negotiable.

Farmers Markets

The Las Olas Farmers Market runs on Sundays. The Pompano Beach Farmers Market is one of the larger ones in Broward County and runs on Saturdays. Both have local produce, prepared food, and craft vendors.
