Nightlife Near Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

Fort Lauderdale's nightlife has grown up. Las Olas Boulevard is the main strip, but there's good drinking and live music scattered across the area. Here's where to go depending on what kind of night you're after.

Las Olas Boulevard

The main drag for bars and restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. About 20 minutes from Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Bars, rooftop lounges, and restaurants line both sides of the street. It gets busy Thursday through Saturday. Park once and walk — everything is close together.

Elbo Room

A Fort Lauderdale Beach institution since 1938. Corner bar, open-air, live music most nights, and a crowd that ranges from college kids to retirees who've been coming for decades. No pretense, cold beer, and a good time.

Rooftop @1WLO

Rooftop bar at the W Fort Lauderdale on the beach. Good cocktails, ocean views, and a crowd that dresses up a bit. One of the better spots for a group that wants something a little more polished.

Stache 1920s Drinking Den

A speakeasy-style cocktail bar in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Craft cocktails, live music, and a vibe that's more intimate than the beach bars. Good for a date night or a smaller group.

Rhythm & Vine

An outdoor bar and music venue in Fort Lauderdale with a large patio, food trucks, and live music on weekends. Laid-back and fun, especially for a group that wants to be outside.

Seminole Hard Rock Live

The concert venue at the Hard Rock Hollywood hosts major touring acts year-round. If there's a show during your stay, it's worth checking. The casino is right there, so you can make a full night of it.

Getting Around

Uber and Lyft are reliable throughout the area. If you're going to the Hard Rock or Las Olas, leave the cars at home. The Sun Trolley runs along Fort Lauderdale Beach and connects to some of the main bar areas for free.
